The Mega Cat-alogue: 5 New Steam Games to Play (October Week 4)
Get to work and try not to question the job description. Sounds simple enough, right? We've all had days when work gets a little weird, but these five new Steam releases have us wondering who approved the requirements in the first place. Apparently, the usual nine-to-five routine isn't for everyone. Some jobs come with a little magic, others require rather unusual skills, and a few make us question if the benefits package is worth the trouble.
Lucky for us, we're just here to browse. This week's Mega Cat-alogue takes us through five very different workdays, each with its own idea of what a normal shift should look like. We can't promise good pay or a helpful manager, but hey, at least the workday won't be boring. So grab your morning coffee and see what's on the schedule. Just make sure you read the job description first.
The Witch’s Bakery
Release Date: October 14, 2026 | 2D Adventure RPG • Sunny Lab, Silver Lining Interactive
Lunne has just arrived in Paris with a bakery to run and a little magic up her sleeve. As a witch who can see into people's hearts, she uses her baking skills to help customers work through their emotions. Who knew emotional support could come fresh out of the oven?
What Caught Our Eye
The idea of stepping inside someone's heart to help them heal is a lovely twist on the usual bakery adventure. In The Witch's Bakery, Lunne enters a magical space called the Heart Palace, where a person's thoughts and emotions take shape. She'll need to find the right ingredient for a special bread that can help them feel better. Forget customer complaints. This is a whole new level of customer service.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
Lunne's day has its own rhythm, with bakery work during the day and time to explore Paris in the evening. You can get to know the locals, discover new places around the city, and pick up books that teach Lunne new recipes. At night, it's time to rest and improve her magic before another busy day begins. And when the bakery needs a little personality, you can decorate it to make the space your own.
Voodoo Fishin’
Release Date: October 14, 2026 | Action, PvE • Lost Arcade
Grab your fishing gear and head into a haunted swamp where the fish aren't the only things waiting beneath the surface. Voodoo Fishin' lets you team up with friends for a fishing trip that can get a little too exciting when the local wildlife decides you're on the menu.
What Caught Our Eye
The shared Dock Quotas give the crew a reason to work together, but the real test is getting everyone back in one piece. If you die, the swamp keeps your catch and any tackle you have equipped. That's a rough way to lose a day's work, especially if you were chasing a rare fish. We hope your friends are good at rescuing people, not just catching dinner.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
There's more to do than cast a line and wait for a bite. You can take on missions from the swamp's unusual residents to earn exclusive puppet parts and fishing gear. Your earnings also let you improve your rods, reels, and bait so you can pursue rarer catches. And with proximity voice chat for up to six players, your crew can coordinate the trip or loudly regret every decision that led them into the swamp.
Flipping is Hard
Release Date: October 17, 2026 | Platformer, Co-op • Elegant Horse Studios, Dawn Wood Games
Flippy is a phone with no legs, and getting back to his friend Jeff means taking on a brutal climb. With only rotation and a vibration jump at his disposal, he'll need to master every movement to make it to the top. This is going to be a long day for everyone's thumbs.
What Caught Our Eye
The controls are what make Flipping is Hard stand out. Flippy can only rotate and jump, so even a small mistake can send him tumbling down the mountain. The climb is tough enough on its own, but you can also bring up to 16 friends along for the struggle. Nothing tests a friendship quite like watching someone fall right after you warned them to be careful.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
The climb has ten areas to tackle, along with optional NPC challenges that put your movement skills to the test. If the difficulty gets too frustrating, Chill Mode adds checkpoints to make progress less punishing. You can also customize Flippy with phone cases, charms, and stickers, then unlock classic mobile games to play on his screen. At least your phone can have a little fun while you're busy trying to stop it from falling off a mountain.
Probably Stolen
Release Date: October 28, 2026 | Simulation, Strategy • Questing Goose Studio, tinyBuild
Welcome to a dystopian space station where running a shop means dealing in goods of questionable origin. You're a former scavenger trying to keep a storefront afloat, but rising rent and a station full of competing factions make turning a profit much harder than it sounds.
What Caught Our Eye
The customers might be the most stressful part of the job. One person could be looking for evidence, while another wants your help with a political scheme. You can approve a sale, refuse it, report the customer, or look the other way, but every decision can affect your reputation. At this shop, the customer isn't always right. They might be gathering evidence against you.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
You get to decide what kind of business you're running, with different product lines offering different risks and rewards. Authenticating rare goods and haggling with suppliers can boost your profits, but a bad purchase could leave you struggling to pay rent. You can also build connections with the station's factions to unlock better deals and access to the underground market. Just remember that a bargain isn't much of a bargain if the authorities show up at your door.
ATMOSFAR
Release Date: October 30, 2026 | Adventure, Open World Survival, Early Access • Apog Labs, SHUEISHA GAMES
Tycos is a world of floating islands and strange creatures, and the best way to explore it is from the sky. In ATMOSFAR, you'll pilot flying vessels called Wasps while searching for clues about humanity's abandoned colony. Your base can even travel with you, so there's no need to leave home behind.
What Caught Our Eye
The Cloud Cruiser is more than a place to park your flying craft. This mobile airbase has a hangar for your Wasps, room to store supplies, and a lounge you can furnish to your liking. You can even pilot the Cruiser yourself while carrying your smaller vessels along for the journey. It's basically a flying home with a very ambitious travel itinerary.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
Different Wasp classes serve different purposes, so choosing the right craft matters when an expedition calls for speed or heavy lifting. You'll need to gather scrap and maintain your equipment while keeping an eye on fuel and life-support supplies. The weather can also turn against you, making each journey a test of your piloting skills. Prefer to share the adventure? Up to four players can work together to build their mobile base and explore Tycos.
And that’s another shift wrapped up! We’re not sure who handles payroll for these jobs, but after looking at this week’s lineup, we think everyone deserves a raise. Hazard pay, too. Especially hazard pay.
We’re just glad browsing Steam doesn’t come with these kinds of working conditions. Wait… does it?
Anyway, we’ll be back with more games to add to your ever-growing wishlist. See you in the next Mega Cat-alogue! 🐾
