The Mega Cat-alogue: 5 New Steam Games to Play (September Week 2)

We need to talk about the Steam scroll.

It starts innocently enough. You're checking out what's new, maybe looking for something to play later. Then you find one game that looks interesting. Then another one. Then you see a title that makes you go, “Wait, what is this?” and suddenly your tabs are multiplying and your wishlist is in danger.

We've been there. Definitely more than once.

So for this week's Mega Cat-alogue, we're embracing the chaos. We've pulled together five new Steam releases that made us stop scrolling, raise an eyebrow, and take a closer look. Let's see if they do the same to you.

Friendly Steps

Release Date: September 3, 2026 | Multiplayer, RPG • KORO.GAMES, Ytopia

You and your friends just want to walk home after a wild night out. Easy, right? Not when you have to control each leg independently, stay upright, and avoid taking the entire squad down with you.

What Caught Our Eye

Friendly Steps takes something we do every day and asks, “What if this was actually REALLY difficult?” The physics-based movement already sounds chaotic, but throwing a rope between up to four players turns every stumble into a group problem. And with weird outfits, side quests, shortcuts, and suspicious city residents getting in your way, the walk home is looking less like a stroll and more like a whole event.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

This feels like the kind of co-op game where the plan lasts about thirty seconds before everything falls apart. You can explore different routes, hunt for shortcuts, tackle side quests, and even see who can get home the fastest in Speedrun Mode. Just remember: you're not the only one who has to stay on their feet.

Tiny Eden

Release Date: September 7, 2026 | Casual, Simulation • Bajka Games, Digital Vortex Entertainment

Your apartment is small, but your garden does not have to be. Turn your little corner of a futuristic city into a growing indoor garden, cook with what you harvest, and keep expanding until you reach the rooftop.

What Caught Our Eye

We love a game that starts with “I'll just grow a few plants” and lets that decision spiral into an entire lifestyle. Every plant has its own needs, so you'll have to figure out the right soil, container, temperature, and lighting to keep everything happy. Plus, you get to decorate the apartment and have a cat hanging around while you're busy turning your home into a greenhouse.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Tiny Eden gives you plenty of room to watch your little garden grow, literally. You can unlock new rooms and growing spaces, turn your harvest into meals, and sell what you make to fund the next upgrade. If you've ever looked at an empty apartment and thought, “I could put a plant there,” this could get dangerous.

In Falsus

Release Date: September 9, 2026 | Visual Novel, Rhythm Game • lowiro

Five girls, a strange government program, and a near-future world where the truth isn't quite what it seems. In Falsus mixes rhythm gameplay with a visual novel-style story and a card system as five interconnected protagonists start uncovering what's really happening around them.

What Caught Our Eye

Okay, rhythm game plus mystery already has our attention. In Falsus takes it further by tying its songs directly to the story, while Cards and Blueprints let you change how you approach each encounter. With five perspectives and more than 70 songs, there's clearly a lot to unpack here.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

You can play through four difficulty levels, so there's room to get comfortable before things start getting spicy. The crafting system gives you Cards with different effects, while Blueprints let you arrange materials into different combinations for your playstyle. And with a story that's all about lies, truth, and a reality that's starting to crack, we're definitely curious to see where it goes.

Honeycomb: The World Beyond

Release Date: September 9, 2026 | Sci-Fi, Survival Adventure • Frozen Way, Snail Games USA

Welcome to Sota7, an alien planet full of strange creatures, unfamiliar ecosystems, and enough unknowns to make any scientist nervous. Explore the planet, build your base, and put those bioengineering skills to work as you search for discoveries that could help humanity's future.

What Caught Our Eye

Honeycomb isn't just asking you to survive on an alien planet. It wants you to figure out how the alien planet works first. You can study plants and creatures, experiment with plant properties, and even manipulate animal traits to see what happens. Basically, Sota7 is your science lab, except the lab can probably eat you.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

There's a lot to poke around with as you explore different biomes and uncover new lifeforms. Your discoveries can help you create useful resources and prepare for longer expeditions, while your base gives you a place to craft, research, and keep everything together. If “scientist gets dropped on an alien planet and immediately starts experimenting on everything” sounds like your kind of problem, this one's worth a look.

TRUDGE

Release Date: September 9, 2026 | Psychological Adventure • FHgames, CHpublishing

Wake up. Work. Eat. Sleep. Do it again. And again. And again. TRUDGE turns an empty daily routine into a slow psychological experience where breaking the cycle might be the only way to figure out what's happening.

What Caught Our Eye

The entire premise of TRUDGE feels a little too relatable until the game starts making that routine feel increasingly unsettling. There’s no dialogue spelling things out for you, so you'll have to pay attention to the silent city and the changes hiding inside its repetition. The game even asks you to break your habits, which feels like a pretty big hint that something is definitely up.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

TRUDGE is built for players who don't mind slowing down and sitting with a game for a while. Progress comes through observation, patience, and trying different things as you figure out how to escape the cycle. With multiple endings, there's plenty of reason to poke at the routine and see what happens when you stop following the same path.

Check it out on Steam.

Well, we did it again. We opened Steam, found five games that made us curious, and now our wishlists are looking a little more crowded than they did before.

Is this a problem? Probably not. Is there a very real chance we'll do the exact same thing next time? Absolutely.

Until then, keep an eye out for the games that make you stop scrolling. You never know what you'll find. See you in the next Mega Cat-alogue! 🐾
