The Mega Cat-alogue: 5 New Steam Games to Play (August Week 2)

What’s the worst that could happen when you’re starting over? You move somewhere new, pick up a new job, build a new home, and get your fresh start underway. Pretty harmless, right? …Right? Because apparently, a clean slate can come with a little magic, strange weather, suspicious employers, and even a few dinosaurs waiting around the corner.

Well, the five new Steam releases have a slightly different answer. Each one starts with a new chapter, then throws its own little twist into the mix. So much for keeping things simple.

Fields of Mistria

Released on August 5, 2026 | Farming & Dating Sim, RPG • NPC Studio

Start a new life in Mistria and turn an overgrown homestead into your dream farm. With magic, romance, exploration, and a town in need of a little TLC, there’s a lot waiting beyond your first harvest.

What Caught Our Eye

The idea of rebuilding a town while building a life of your own immediately caught our attention. Fields of Mistria has that nostalgic farming-sim charm, but the addition of magic makes the usual farm routine feel a little more unexpected. Plus, there’s something very satisfying about starting with an overgrown plot and imagining what it could become.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If cozy farming games are your comfort zone, Fields of Mistria looks like a lovely place to settle into. You can shape your farm, get to know the people around town, and gradually uncover more of what Mistria has to offer. It feels like the kind of game where there’s always another little project waiting for you.

Doloc Town

Released on August 6, 2026 | Farming & Life Sim • RedSaw Games Studio, Logoi Games, Pathea Games

Build a new life in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where farming, exploration, and automation go hand in hand. Turn a scrap-filled settlement into a thriving home while figuring out how to make the harsh world work in your favor.

What Caught Our Eye

A farming sim set in the apocalypse already had us curious, but Doloc Town takes that idea even further. The thought of turning extreme weather into something useful is such a fun twist on the usual farming routine. We also love that your little farm can grow upward, giving the whole setup a wonderfully scrappy feel.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Doloc Town looks like a great fit for players who enjoy watching a humble setup grow into something much bigger. There’s plenty of room to build, customize, and experiment as your settlement develops. The post-apocalyptic setting gives the familiar farming formula a fresh personality without losing its cozy side.

Pight

Released on August 9, 2026 | Puzzle, Strategy • Mindlabor

Solve minimalist puzzles with pistons, blocks, portals, and plenty of room to think. Pight starts simple, then gradually introduces new mechanics that put your problem-solving skills to the test.

What Caught Our Eye

We love a puzzle game that looks innocent right before it makes you stare at the screen for five minutes. Pight keeps its presentation wonderfully simple, letting the puzzles do all the talking. The way new mechanics appear as you progress also gives us just enough reason to wonder what the next batch of levels will throw at us.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you enjoy quiet puzzle games that let you figure things out at your own pace, Pight looks right up your alley. The minimalist design keeps the focus on solving each level, while the growing set of mechanics gives you new problems to chew on. Just don't be surprised if "one more level" turns into a much longer session.

Servant of the Lake

Released on August 13, 2026 | Puzzle, Point & Click • Rusty Lake

Take on a new job at the mysterious Vanderboom estate in this surreal point-and-click adventure. Complete your duties, solve strange puzzles, and try to figure out exactly what your new employers are up to.

What Caught Our Eye

"New job as a servant" sounds harmless enough until you realize you're working for the Vanderboom family. The contrast between ordinary household chores and the strange things happening around the estate immediately made us curious. Even doing laundry sounds a little more suspicious when you're surrounded by Rusty Lake's particular brand of weirdness.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Fans of point-and-click adventures and the Rusty Lake universe will have plenty to look forward to here. The everyday tasks give you a familiar place to start, while the surreal puzzles keep things from staying ordinary for long. If mysterious houses and questionable family secrets are your thing, this one deserves a closer look.

Clawed

Released on August 14, 2026 | Action-Adventure, Survival Horror • Flatrock Games

Enter a dinosaur theme park where the attractions are very much alive and very much not happy to see you. Explore Prehistoria, solve puzzles, and fight to survive as you uncover what happened to the park.

What Caught Our Eye

A dinosaur theme park sounds like a pretty great place to visit until you remember that you're the one being hunted. That little switch immediately grabbed our attention, especially with Prehistoria offering plenty of places to explore beyond the park's enclosures. The combination of dinosaurs and classic survival-horror tension makes for one seriously questionable vacation destination.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you like your adventures with a healthy dose of danger, Clawed looks ready to make every trip through the park count. The mix of exploration, puzzles, and survival gives you plenty to think about while keeping the dinosaurs very much on your mind. And if going it alone sounds like too much, there's co-op for bringing a friend along for the panic.

Okay, maybe these fresh starts weren’t quite as peaceful as they sounded. From mysterious new jobs to dinosaur-filled adventures, there’s clearly no shortage of ways to shake things up.

Time to see what other strange little adventures Steam has waiting for us. See you in the next Mega Cat-alogue! 🐾
