The Mega Cat-alogue: 5 New Steam Games to Play (July Week 2)

We weren’t expecting this week’s Steam releases to come with résumés, but here we are.

We found a cat running the local post office, a vampire tending crops under the moonlight, an esports organization counting on your management skills, a pirate setting sail once again, and a wizard cat casting spells across a hand-drawn world.

Apparently, “career goals” means something very different on Steam.

It's an unusual workforce, but it also makes for a fantastic week of discoveries. Here are five new releases that clocked in and caught our attention.

Cat Mail Co.

Released on July 9, 2026 | Cozy Simulation • Maracas Studio / Gamersky Games

Run a charming post office as a dedicated feline mail carrier, organizing parcels and helping restore a once-forgotten postal service.

What Caught Our Eye

Cat Mail Co. takes everyday postal work and turns it into something surprisingly relaxing. Sorting packages, weighing parcels, and organizing the post office already make for a satisfying routine, but the day-to-night cycle is what really caught our attention. Once the sun goes down, ordinary deliveries begin revealing magical properties, adding a whimsical twist to an otherwise cozy routine.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you enjoy games built around simple, satisfying routines, this could be an easy recommendation. The stress-free pace, customizable workflow, and optional four-player co-op make it seem like the kind of game you can settle into for a relaxing session, whether you're playing solo or sorting parcels with friends.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Released on July 9, 2026 | Action-Adventure • Ubisoft Singapore, Ubisoft Barcelona, Ubisoft Bordeaux, Ubisoft Belgrade, Ubisoft Chengdu, Ubisoft India, Ubisoft Kyiv, Ubisoft Montpellier, Ubisoft Philippines, Ubisoft Quebec, Ubisoft Shanghai

A faithful remake of the beloved pirate adventure, bringing Edward Kenway's high-seas journey back with updated visuals, gameplay improvements, and brand-new story content.

What Caught Our Eye

Black Flag has long been considered one of the series' defining pirate adventures, so seeing it return with more than just a visual overhaul immediately caught our attention. Alongside refreshed combat, smoother parkour, and expanded naval mechanics, the remake also introduces new story content featuring iconic pirates like Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, giving returning players a few new reasons to set sail again.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Whether you're revisiting Edward Kenway's journey or experiencing it for the first time, this looks like a great excuse to head back to the Caribbean. Between commanding the Jackdaw, exploring tropical islands, and uncovering new additions to an already beloved adventure, it seems well-positioned to welcome both longtime Assassin's Creed fans and newcomers alike.

Moonlight Peaks

Released on July 7, 2026 | Farming & Life-Sim • Little Chicken / XSEED Games / Marvelous Europe

Trade sunny fields for moonlit harvests in a cozy farming sim where vampires, witches, werewolves, and mermaids all call the same magical town home.

What Caught Our Eye

Most farming sims revolve around peaceful mornings and sunny afternoons. Moonlight Peaks flips that routine on its head, asking you to be back in your coffin before sunrise instead. Between growing enchanted crops, raising magical livestock, learning witchcraft, and shapeshifting into different forms, it feels like a fresh take on the cozy life sim formula without losing its charm.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you're looking for a farming game with a little more bite, this feels like an easy one to keep on your radar. Beyond tending your gothic homestead, you'll have plenty of ways to spend your evenings, from getting to know the town's supernatural residents to fishing, potion-making, and maybe even finding your "tomb" love along the way.

Esports Manager 2026

Released on July 6, 2026 | Management Simulation • Neurona Games / indie.io

Build and lead a professional esports organization, balancing everything from player development and transfers to sponsorships, staffing, and tournament schedules.

What Caught Our Eye

Most esports games put you in the middle of the action. Esports Manager 2026 shifts the focus behind the scenes, where every roster move, contract negotiation, and training decision shapes your team's future. What also stood out is the lack of a scripted campaign, letting you build your organization at your own pace instead of chasing a fixed ending.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you enjoy management sims with plenty of moving parts, this looks like one worth keeping an eye on. Beyond assembling your dream roster, you'll also be managing morale, finances, staff, and long-term strategy as your organization grows. It's also worth noting that the developers disclose using AI-generated content for some player faces and in-game logos.

Whiskers, Wizards and Wands

Released on June 30, 2026 | Puzzle Adventure • Sweet and Power Sauce / Indie game Foundry

A cozy puzzle adventure where a book-loving wizard cat uses customizable magic to help piece a beautifully hand-drawn paper world back together.

What Caught Our Eye

The hand-drawn presentation immediately drew us in. Every environment begins as marker illustrations on paper before being brought into the game, giving the world a handcrafted storybook feel. Pair that with a wand system that lets you combine elemental pieces into custom spells, and it looks like there's plenty of room for creativity and experimentation.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you're looking for a lighthearted adventure with equal parts charm and curiosity, this could be a delightful pick. Between its hand-drawn presentation, magical puzzles, collectible outfits, and colorful cast of creatures, it seems like the kind of game that's easy to settle into for a cozy afternoon.

Check it out on Steam.

We’d say it’s time to clock out, but knowing Steam, someone will probably post another bizarre job opening before we’re even out the door. Fortunately for us, that’s usually where the best discoveries begin. Until then, we’ll see you in the next Mega Cat-alogue! 🐾
