The details are a little chaotic, but there’s a curious cat involved, someone’s missing their bread, a tea party has gone horribly off schedule, and at least one bomb that really shouldn’t explode. Oh, and there’s also a samurai fighting monsters in Kyoto. So, you know. Pretty standard stuff.

We’ve been digging through the latest Steam releases and found five games that are ready to hand you a very specific problem and let you figure out what to do with it. Curious Paws: hidden objects

What Caught Our Eye
Giving us the perspective of a cat already has our attention. A rustling leaf? Suspicious. A bug flying past? Extremely important. Curious Paws turns all those tiny distractions into the whole point of the game, which feels pretty fitting.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
If you need a quieter mission after everything else on this week’s assignment list, this looks like a lovely one to settle into. The hand-drawn environments and slow-paced hidden object gameplay make it perfect for taking your time and seeing what catches your eye.
Gawr Gura: Quest for Bread

Jump, spin, fight, and platform your way through an unexpected adventure to reunite Gura with one very important loaf of bread.
What Caught Our Eye
The mission is simple: get the bread back. The fact that this requires acrobatic platforming, combat, boss fights, and silly hats makes it significantly less simple, but hey, we respect the commitment.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
This looks like a fun pick if you want a short platforming adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously. There's plenty packed into its bite-sized runtime, plus a dedicated speedrun mode for anyone who thinks retrieving bread needs to happen faster.
Garden of Witches
Release Date: August 28, 2026 | Action, Roguelike • Team Tapas
Wield giant scissors, master witchcraft, and round up a group of unruly witches before the Garden falls apart in this fast-paced action roguelike.
What Caught Our Eye
We’re still thinking about the fact that the solution to getting everyone to attend a tea party involves beating them into submission. Not exactly how we’d handle party planning, but clearly Sil has her own methods.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
Garden of Witches gives action roguelike fans plenty to experiment with. Different weapons, spells, skills, relics, and builds let you approach each run in your own way, while learning enemy patterns becomes part of surviving the Garden.
BOMBANANA!
Release Date: September 2, 2026 | Casual, Multiplayer • Lefto Studio, TARK
Three monkeys. One bomb. A truly terrible communication setup. Work together to defuse increasingly complicated bombs before the timer runs out.
What Caught Our Eye
This might be one of the worst (in the best way) possible group projects we’ve ever seen. One player can't see, one can't hear, and one can't speak, yet everyone somehow needs to communicate well enough to stop a bomb from exploding. What could possibly go wrong?
Why It’s Worth Your Time
If your friend group enjoys co-op games that test communication and patience, BOMBANANA! looks like it could cause exactly the right amount of chaos. You'll need to figure out how to work together, solve the puzzles, and hopefully remain friends by the end of it.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Step into a dark and twisted Kyoto as Miyamoto Musashi and wield the power of the Oni Gauntlet against terrifying Genma in this new entry in the Onimusha series.
What Caught Our Eye
After cats, bread, tea parties, and monkeys with bombs, ending this week's assignments with blood-soaked samurai battles feels completely reasonable.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword immediately stands out with its dark take on Edo-period Kyoto, where familiar locations become something far more sinister under the influence of Malice.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
If blood-soaked sword fights and monsters from the underworld sound like a good way to spend your time, this mission has your name on it. Between the brutal combat, monstrous Genma, and the mystery surrounding the Oni Gauntlet, Musashi has plenty waiting for him in Kyoto.
