The Mega Cat-alogue: 5 New Steam Games to Play (September Week 3)

Please read the instructions carefully.

Actually, we're not sure if there are any.

Every week, we dig through Steam looking for games to add to our ever-growing list of things we want to check out. Usually, we have a pretty good idea of what we're getting into. This week? We're a little less confident about that.

There are rules, there are things that probably have a very specific purpose, and then there are the moments where you just have to trust the process. That's where things get interesting.

So grab your imaginary instruction manual and flip to the page that says “good luck.” Welcome to this week's Mega Cat-alogue.

Push Push

Release Date: September 10, 2026 | Casual, Desktop Companion • 1ceAgain

Your desktop is about to get a lot more crowded. Pump balloons, unlock cats, collect strange little companions, and build up your balloon-popping operation one click at a time.

What Caught Our Eye

Okay, we weren't expecting balloon pumping to have this much going on. Push Push starts with a very simple idea, then adds cats with their own stats, quirky pumps, animal helpers, farming, cooking, and a whole lot of things to collect. It's the kind of desktop companion that could quietly sit there until you realize you've been checking on your balloons again.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

There's a lot to keep your little operation moving while you're doing other things. Your animal companions can help automate parts of the operation, while Luck and Stamina affect how you approach balloon popping and rewards. With more than 100 cats and plenty of accessories and other collectibles to find, there's always another tiny thing to work toward.

Check it out on Steam.

Woodo

Release Date: September 16, 2026 | Cozy, 3D Puzzle • Tiny Monk Tales, Daedalic Entertainment

Piece together handcrafted wooden dioramas and watch them slowly come to life. As each scene takes shape, you'll uncover a gentle story filled with little details, animations, and plenty of things to look at.

What Caught Our Eye

There's something ridiculously satisfying about putting a tiny world together piece by piece. Woodo makes its puzzles feel almost like playing with a physical toy, but there's more to it than finding the right spot and moving on. You'll need to turn the dioramas around, look for hidden pieces, and figure out how everything fits together.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Woodo doesn't seem interested in rushing you through its puzzles. The scenes change as you build them, with little animations and surprises appearing as everything falls into place. Add a narrator, a story about Foxy and Ben, and a whole lot of silly characters, and you've got a game that's happy to let you slow down and enjoy the process.

Check it out on Steam.

Aniimo

Release Date: September 16, 2026 | Open-World RPG • Pawprint Studio

Explore the world of Idyll, catch unusual creatures, and discover what happens when you can actually become the Aniimo you've collected. There's a big open world out there, and your next companion could change how you explore it.

What Caught Our Eye

The whole “become the creature you caught” thing definitely got our attention. Catching Aniimo is only part of it, since each one can give you different abilities that help you move through Idyll and tackle its challenges. And with creatures appearing based on things like weather, time of day, and the environment, there's plenty of reason to keep looking around.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Idyll gives you a lot of space to mess around and find your own way through the world. You can glide, dive, burrow, race, battle, and switch between different Aniimo as you explore. Then when you need a break, you can head back to your RV, grow crops, decorate your space, and hang out with your collection.

Check it out on Steam.

MONOWAVE

Release Date: September 16, 2026 | Puzzle Platformer • Studio BBB Inc., Phoenixx Inc.

Mono has four emotions to work with, and each one comes with its own way to move through the world. Explore strange realms, meet quirky spirits, and help restore balance before everything falls apart.

What Caught Our Eye

Using emotions as actual movement abilities is a pretty neat way to build a platformer. Happiness helps Mono jump higher, Sorrow lets them move through water, Anger opens up new paths with wall jumps, and Anxiety helps with dodging and tricky terrain. Suddenly, feelings have a lot more practical applications than we gave them credit for.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Each emotion changes how you approach the world, and the four realms are built around those different powers. You'll also meet characters whose behavior can change depending on how you interact with them, giving the world a little more to think about than just getting from one side of a level to the other. And that scratch-art-inspired look? It's hard not to stop and appreciate it.

Check it out on Steam.

Sniper Dan

Release Date: September 17, 2026 | FPS, Hidden Object • Denki, PQube

Dan has a sniper rifle, a list of problems to fix, and absolutely no interest in hurting anyone. Scope out busy 3D locations, find what's gone wrong, and figure out where to take your next shot.

What Caught Our Eye

We have to start with the obvious question: who decided a sniper rifle was the right tool for this job? Sniper Dan turns hidden-object puzzles into long-distance troubleshooting, so instead of hunting enemies, you're looking for whatever needs fixing. It's a very serious profession. Probably.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

There are more than 160 jobs spread across six locations, with clues to figure out and problems that can change between runs. You can also hunt for secrets, take photos, earn money, upgrade your rifle, and decorate Dan's office between jobs. And if regular problem-solving isn't enough, there are bonus modes and minigames waiting for you too.

Check it out on Steam.

That’s all for this week! If you followed the instructions, congrats. If you didn’t, honestly, neither did we. Go see what this week’s Steam picks have in store, and we’ll be back with another batch of questionable decisions next time.

Until then, trust your instincts, read the fine print, and remember: results may vary. See you in the next Mega Cat-alogue! 🐾
