Fans of The Messenger rejoice!

Sabotage Studio has raised over one million dollars from over 25,000 backers on Kickstarter for their next project titled Sea of Stars.

Sea of Stars is a prequel taking place 1,000 years before the events of The Messenger and follows two children with the powers of the sun and moon who must defeat an evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer to save their world.

Sabotage Studio said in the launch of their campaign “Whatever happens with the stretch goals, the game will get made in its full vision. We won’t tack on features that would bloat the game to add more incentives, or remove systems that would make the game incomplete if we didn’t reach objectives.”

Looks like they have absolutely nothing to worry about seeing as they’re raised over ten times their target, and there will now be a behind-the-scenes documentary and a New Game+ mode. It will also feature an alternate ending for players who 100% the game, and a DLC that’s going to be free to all backers.

The stunning turn-based RPG doesn’t have an official release date yet, but we will be following the project closely for any details, so be sure to check back here for more weekly gaming news.
