Weekly Dose of Gaming News - EVE Online Molea Cemetery

Weekly Dose of Gaming News - EVE Online Molea Cemetery - Mega Cat Studios, Inc.

EVE Online has a pretty dedicated community, to this day!

One of the biggest ways is to showcase is the Molea Cemetery, which is entirely community-made, and maintained. A group of players painstakingly scour New Eden for the corpses of those who died in-game and transfer them to the cemetery in floating cargo containers for safekeeping.

This service is really cool, but we think both the sweetest and saddest thing we've ever hear is that the cemetery also started housing memorials for EVE Online Players who've died in real-life. There are over a thousand cargo containers with eulogies for those who passed.

The Molea Cemetery was started in 2007 by a player named Azia Burgi, and the CCP Games started switching from player-owned Starbases to Citadels, the future of the cemetery was threatened. Luckily, CCP Games listened to the concern of its players and decided to make the Molea Cemetery a permanent fixture in the game with the brand new monument.

Azia Burgi told EVE news website Imperium News, "I'm not sure it has registered that this will now be here forever.", "It's just nice that everyone can now enjoy my contribution to the world."

We're happy to see developers and players impacting a game community this way.
