It's the month of April, but we aren't pulling any pranks today. We're taking a dip into some 2D Pixel Art Horror, right on time for late spring break. So no beaches and dive bars, just creepy towns, forests, and ruins. It sounds like a party to me.
First stop we have Skeler Boy, a psychological horror adventure plan for PC, Android, and iOS. Maniac Boy Studio drew inspiration from '70s and '80s horror movies like The Exorcist, Terminator, The NeverEnding Story, and The Shining. Yes, you heard me. The first Terminator was a horror movie. Watch it. It still freaks me out.
Now, will it won't be available in any dedicated handheld gaming consoles you're guaranteed an old school feel reminiscent of your favorite Nintendo systems. Horror nostalgia galore with a darkness, serving vibe, hundreds of conversations, collectible objects, and challenging puzzles. Skeler Boy will be something to look forward to or be really afraid of.
Spirit Crisis: The Cursed Path of Francesco Endymion is a 2D side school adventure that unravels an ethic, dark tale about an average dude, just trying to survive in an average savage world during an average religious inquisition. Guy can catch a break to be honest.
Game Studio Freighter, Greg Orbis made sure to pull out all the stops when it comes to hair receipt, witchcraft, demonic possessions, vamperism and sanctification. Well done, I'm terrified. Inspired by European Mythology and video games such as Insight and Castlevania, you're guaranteed to have a whole lot of fun with the right amount of unnerving tension. No one expects a spirit crisis inquisition.
At the end of the day, it's all about the kind of horror you want to be terrified by. So do check out Skeler Boy and Spirit Crisis over at kickstarter.com.
