Weekly Dose of Gaming News - Xbox Reveals FPS Boost For Series X

Backwards compatibility is one of our favorite features of the Xbox consoles, and now we have even more reason to love it. Microsoft is releasing an FPS boost with the Xbox series X and S, which will allow gamers to play classic Xbox titles at a higher frame rate.

The Xbox series X and S lets you play most games from the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. However, the frame rate boost is only available for a few titles at the moment. You can play Far Cry 4, New Super Lucky's Tale, Sniper Elite 4, UFC 4, and Watch Dogs 2 at double to maybe even quadruple the frame rate of the original titles. However, Microsoft plans on extending the function to many more classic Xbox games this year. Framerate boost will also be available to some games on the Xbox Game Pass. This is truly an exciting time for retro game lovers.

If you don't want to boost your frame rates, and you would prefer to immerse yourself in the full on retro experience of playing classic games, you can toggle the function on or off at your leisure. We're excited to see the FPS boost in action with some of our favorite nostalgic Xbox games from the past.

Are you excited about this new function? What are some games you're looking forward to play with boosted frame rates?
