The Mega Cat-alogue: 5 New Steam Games to Play (July Week 3)
Our travel plans changed unexpectedly this week. Instead of checking flight prices, we ended up exploring Steam and it worked out pretty well. We wandered through the streets of Prague, got stranded on a mysterious island, and spent an unreasonable amount of time hunting for hidden cats. Along the way, we stumbled into a few surprises that proved the best detours are often the ones you never planned for.
Good news: no passport required. Here are five new Steam releases that earned a spot on this week’s itinerary.
Playing Prague
Released on July 13, 2026 | Casual, Strategy • Charles Games
A relaxing puzzle game where matching playing cards gradually brings Prague’s iconic landmarks and rich cultural history to life.
What Caught Our Eye
Playing Prague feels as much like a love letter to the city as it does a puzzle game. Each completed layout reveals famous landmarks, while the playing cards themselves are inspired by the historic symbols once found on Prague's houses. Along the way, you'll also encounter notable figures like Franz Kafka, Albert Einstein, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, adding another layer to the city's story.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
This could be a great pick if you enjoy puzzles that teach you something along the way. Rather than simply clearing levels, you're uncovering pieces of Prague's history as each completed puzzle reveals another iconic landmark, making every stage feel like a small sightseeing stop.
KAZ
Released on July 14, 2026 | Action, Indie • Kalinarm / HAKURO
A fast-paced arcade roguelike where minimalist controls, psychedelic visuals, and rhythm-inspired gameplay collide in a relentless score chase.
What Caught Our Eye
KAZ proves you don't need complicated controls to create chaos. With just four buttons, every run quickly fills the screen with vibrant effects, evolving themes, and split-second decisions as you chase an even higher score. We also liked how visual themes aren't purely cosmetic. Each one changes the way you play with its own unique ability.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
This could be a great fit for anyone who enjoys chasing personal bests or squeezing in one more run. Rotating challenges, dozens of unlockable themes, and countless combinations of items, buffs, and maluses seem built to reward experimentation while keeping every attempt feeling a little different.
My Pocket Paradise
Released on July 14, 2026 | Casual, Simulation • Funbox Studio
A pixel-art farming and fishing sim that brings a tiny island paradise to the corner of your desktop, ready whenever you have a few minutes to spare.
What Caught Our Eye
There's something charming about carrying an entire little island around on your desktop. Instead of asking for long play sessions, My Pocket Paradise lets you pop in whenever you feel like casting a line, harvesting crops, or adding another treasure to your growing museum. It feels like a miniature getaway that's always within reach.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
Players who enjoy collecting, decorating, and gradually building something of their own may find plenty to enjoy here. Legendary fish, customizable outfits, quirky villagers, and worlds to visit mean there’s always another small goal waiting the next time you drop by.
Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit
Released on July 15, 2026 | Adventure, Life Sim • Spry Fox
Find yourself stranded on a mysterious island where helping ghostly bears, decorating your campsite, and spreading kindness slowly bring the world back to life.
What Caught Our Eye
Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit takes the series' signature blend of cozy life sim and heartfelt storytelling to a brand-new island. We liked how every new friendship gradually uncovers another piece of the island's mystery, while crafting, decorating, and daily activities make the campsite feel more welcoming over time. The watercolor art style also gives every corner of the island a warm, storybook charm.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
If relaxing life sims are your kind of getaway, this looks like an easy recommendation. Fishing, cooking, decorating, caring for ghostly companions, and uncovering new areas create a gentle routine that's easy to return to each day, while the asynchronous multiplayer lets you exchange gifts with other Spirit Scouts without the pressure of real-time play.
Find Cats 7 Art & Alchemy
Released on July 16, 2026 | Casual, Indie • Happy Fish
Search for 180 cleverly hidden cats across medieval scenes inspired by art studios, alchemy workshops, and Gothic gardens.
What Caught Our Eye
Find Cats 7 puts a medieval spin on the hidden object formula. Every scene is packed with colorful details, from shelves lined with alchemy tools to paintings, flowers, and tucked-away corners where curious cats are waiting to be spotted. We also liked that each cat comes with its own hint, making it approachable without taking away the satisfaction of finding them yourself.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
Anyone who enjoys hidden object games or simply likes slowing down to search every corner of a beautifully illustrated scene may find this an enjoyable way to unwind. The developers also disclose using AI-generated content for some art assets and music, followed by manual editing and creative refinement, so it's worth keeping that in mind before jumping in.
Looks like our little getaway has come to an end… at least until Steam sends us somewhere unexpected again. We made it through without delayed flights or lost luggage, but our wishlist definitely came back a little heavier than when we left.
We’ll start packing for the next trip. See you in the next Mega Cat-alogue! 🐾
