The Mega Cat-alogue: 5 New Steam Games to Play (August Week 3)

There are two kinds of players: the ones who follow the plan and the ones who immediately think, “Okay, but what happens if I do the exact opposite?” No judgment here. In fact, we fully support poking at the buttons, trying the weird(er) option, and seeing how badly things can go. That’s half the fun of finding a new game, right?

That’s the energy we found while digging through this week’s new Steam releases. Each one gives you a starting point and a lot of room to figure things out your own way. Follow the obvious path, ignore it completely, or make a choice that leaves you staring at the screen like, “...Well, that happened.” Your move.

I.T. Never Ends

Released on August 14, 2026 | Simulation, Horror • Dadbod Games

Survive the night shift at a company run by cosmic horrors in this dark comedy desktop simulator. Process bizarre IT tickets, make tough calls, and try to keep your job.

What Caught Our Eye

The idea of treating IT support like a survival game is already pretty funny, but the tickets are where things get wonderfully unhinged. You’re not just deciding who gets a password reset. You’re juggling productivity, budget, morale, and entropy while trying to make it through the workday in one piece. And yes, the fact that the building might start remembering things is definitely a concern.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you enjoy games that turn everyday situations into something completely ridiculous, I.T. Never Ends looks like a fun one to clock into. The swipe-based decisions keep things easy to pick up, while the shifting metrics and manual minigames give each shift plenty to deal with. Just try not to make your first day your last.

Tukoni: Forest Keepers

Released on August 17, 2026 | Adventure, Casual • Dream Operator, Gamersky Games

Explore a magical forest, solve gentle puzzles, and help its charming inhabitants prepare for winter in this cozy adventure.

What Caught Our Eye

There’s so much to love about how cozy this forest feels. The hand-drawn art gives every location its own character, while the little details tucked into each area make you want to stop and look around. We also love the idea of rewarding curiosity with a cup of tea, because honestly, more games should do that.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Tukoni: Forest Keepers looks like a lovely pick for players who enjoy slower-paced adventures with puzzles that let you take your time. Meeting the forest's inhabitants, collecting herbs, and piecing together solutions gives the journey a relaxed rhythm. It's a sweet little escape when you want something gentle to settle into.

UPBEAT

Released on August 17, 2026 | Puzzle Platformer, Rhythm • CALYPSO LABS

Build your own beats and use them to climb through an ever-changing platforming challenge. The better your rhythm, the higher you go.

What Caught Our Eye

The idea that your music literally builds the level beneath you is such a neat concept. Change the beat and you change the platforms, which means your rhythm can shape the route you take. Add in the rising tempo, and suddenly your carefully planned loop has a lot more pressure behind it.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

UPBEAT looks like a great fit for players who enjoy score chasing and games that reward experimentation. Building your own loops gives you plenty of ways to approach a run, while upgrades open up even more possibilities as you climb. It's the kind of arcade game that could have you chasing one more run before you know it.

Little Sim World

Released on August 18, 2026 | Life Sim, RPG • .GRAVITY

Start a new life in Little London, where you can build your dream home, meet quirky locals, and live life at your own pace.

What Caught Our Eye

We like how much freedom Little Sim World gives you to decide what your everyday life looks like. You can spend your time working on your skills, changing up your home, meeting people around town, or simply wandering around to see what catches your attention. Little London may be small, but there’s a lot going on.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you enjoy life sims where the little details matter, Little Sim World has plenty to keep you busy. Customizing your character and home gives you a personal stake in the world, while the city's residents add another layer to your daily routine. And if you want company, multiplayer lets you bring friends along for the ride.

COSETTE: THE UNTITLED GAME

Released on August 20, 2026 | Mystery, RPG • RIBBON CAGE

Step into Cosette’s story through puzzles, pixel-art exploration, and interactive storytelling. With multiple endings to uncover, every choice can change where the story leads.

What Caught Our Eye

COSETTE immediately stood out for the way it mixes several styles into one experience. The pixel-art exploration gives you a world to poke around in, while the puzzles and story choices add another layer to figuring out what happens next. With so many possible endings, there's clearly more than one way to approach Cosette's story.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Players who enjoy narrative adventures with branching paths may find a lot to dig into here. The combination of puzzles, exploration, and interactive storytelling keeps you involved in more than just the next scene. And with multiple endings to uncover, replaying the story can lead to a very different experience each time.

Check it out on Steam.

So, what would YOU do? Hopefully something that doesn’t get you fired, lost, or eaten. Either way, we’ll be back digging through Steam for more games to get ourselves into. See you in the next Mega Cat-alogue! 🐾
