Return of the Dark Sorcerer, an FF6 mod first launched in 2010, just released a new update. That’s right, this mod has seen 10 years of updates.
The feature list for this mod is extensive and at times a bit surprising, featuring everything from a new soundtrack to custom characters to unique NPCs and enemies, sprites, and all.
Aside from the scope, variety, and the dev time behind this hack--all of which are crazy--we love how many hands touched this project. Return of the Dark Sorcerer has had over 40 contributors over the years, and it’s still going.
