Weekly Dose of Gaming News - eLmaGus Sets a New World Record for Lufia
Elmagus is at it again. He just set a new world record for Lufia, a classic Super Nintendo RPG.
With his world record in any% retry mode, Magus now holds first place in all 4 Lufia categories, one of his many world record accolades spanning several games, including the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics, Mystic Quest, and of course, Lufia II.
Shortly after his world record run, he said on Discord: “Its over, forever. 3:03:52 Lufia & The Fortress of Doom featuring some of the most insane boss fights I have ever seen and having to reset once for cores because frames are dumb.”
He went on to say that he has a soft spot for Lufia, which is why he spent so much time on routing and was patient to eventually get the late-game RNG he needed to set a new record.
While Lufia may not be the most active speedrun RPG out there, Magus has been chasing down unique RPG challenges for years and pushing some legendary retro titles to new places. For that, we tip our 16-bit hat to the Goose and look forward to his next world record.
