Since quarantine started earlier this year, we know we've been playing a ton more video games. And luckily for us, this may actually be good for our mental health.
According to a study from Oxford University, people who played a lot of video games were happier and had a greater well being. The study only used two games: Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville, so it doesn't exactly give us conclusive evidence across all genres, but it's a great start.
The lead developer of the study shared the findings saying "The study shows that if you played four hours a day of Animal Crossing, you're a much happier human being, and that's only interesting, because all of the other research before this is done so badly. I'm very confident that if the research goes on, we will learn about the things that we think of as toxic in games, and we will have evidence for those things as well."
Have you been playing for video games lately? How do you feel after you play for a few hours?
