Weekly Dose of Gaming News - Pizza Hut and Pac Man

Weekly Dose of Gaming News - Pizza Hut and Pac Man

Modern and retro worlds collide with Pizza Hut's Pac-Man throwback. QR allows you to play an augmented reality Pac-Man game printed on select Pizza Hut pizza boxes.

Pizza Hut CMO George Felix shared the idea behind the new marketing campaign with Adweek saying "It's rooted in all the things that people love about pizza, and the iconic elements of our brand—whether it's the Tiffany lamps, the red cups, the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, or of course, our iconic pizza. And part of that experience that people used to have a Pizza Hut was playing the video games and the table top Pac-Man games. So it's about making all of those things relevant in a new way."

Instead of the nostalgia that you may feel from the classic games like Pac-Man, Pizza Hut has coined a new term, Newstalgia. Call it whatever you want, we're excited for another reason to play more retro games.

The most exciting part about this campaign is that you can enter to win your very own Pac-Man game cabinet by sharing your score on Twitter. That's right, you could have an actual Pac-Man cabinet in your house.

Be right back, we have some pizza to order and some Pac-Man to play!

Weekly Dose of Gaming News - Diablo II: Resurrected

Weekly Dose of Gaming News - Diablo II: Resurrected

Reboots of popular classic games are becoming increasingly common, and we're not very surprised that Blizzard is remaking the iconic Diablo II.

Diablo II: Resurrected will give us a chance to play the action RPG that we know and love with updated graphics and controls. Another great function of Diablo II: Resurrected is the new shared stash, so you can share and store items along with your online teammates.

The updated game will also be available to both console and PC gamers with cross-progression so you can jump back and forth to continue your game on either platform. However, there won't be cross-play when the game launches, so we'll be keeping an eye out for the possibility of that function later on.

We can't tell you how excited we are to be able to play through the classic ARPG with modern mechanics and updated graphics. It could easily be argued that Diablo II helped shape the genre as we know it, so it only makes sense that it should get a massive makeover 21 years later.

Are you looking forward to playing Diablo II: Resurrected?

Weekly Dose of Gaming News - Project Horizon for the Amiga

We've got some exciting news for Amiga fans. An upcoming game for the retro console titled Project Horizon developed by Electric Black Sheep now has a demo.

You get to play as a NASA astronaut in an alternate 1977 timeline who finds himself in the middle of a war. It's a top-down shooter sci-fi game and Indieretronews.com shares that the game is "Inspired by basic shooting elements such as Commando, with a mix of Chaos Engine and a dab of Alien Breed."

Project Horizon is still in development and Indieretronews.com is encouraging players to let them know of any bugs they may stumble across. The full version of the game will be released with a map editor for free, and will include all the source code and tools. It's exciting to see new games being released for the Commodore Amiga, and we can't wait to check it out!
