Weekly Dose of Gaming News - The Playing For The Planet Alliance
Some of the largest gaming companies are coming together to use video games to help stop climate change.
The Playing For The Planet Alliance was founded in 2019 and is committed to helping save the environment with goals like reducing CO2 emissions, planting new trees, and device recycling.
According to an article by Business Insider "Sony PlayStation partnered with the UN Environment Programme to create an immersive virtual reality experience to raise awareness of climate issues and promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle".
We think that is such a cool idea and we take a walk in a virtual reality environment any day. Sony has also managed to avoid about "17.5 million tonnes of carbon equivalent emissions for the PS4."
It's awesome to see companies coming together to help make the planet a better place to pass down to future generations and we have to say we're pretty proud to be gamers!
